The Preceptorship Programme is a period to guide, develop and support all newly registered practitioners to build confidence and competence as they transition from student to autonomous professional. The programme is suitable for nurses, midwives, nurse associates, allied health professionals, and healthcare scientists who are:
- newly qualified up to 12 months in practice
- internationally recruited after joining the UK register
- return to practice with updated UK registration
This course equips you with the tools and techniques to deliver clear, confident, and impactful presentations in any setting. Whether you're pitching an idea, delivering a report, or leading a training session, you'll gain the knowledge to transform presentations from ordinary to extraordinary.
In line with our core values and behaviours, when you work with assertiveness you will communicate with confidence, recognise your rights and responsibilities to each other, and know how to deal with potentially difficult situations.
This module will help you understand more about your own and others behavioural styles, the relationship between assertiveness and self-esteem, the impact of how we communicate - both verbally and non-verbally, and provide you with the knowledge to develop better working relationships or achieve better working outcomes - by working with assertiveness.
Once you have completed this module, you should book to attend the Improving your Assertiveness workshop; where the knowledge you now have will be explored, practiced and brought to life – and where you can plan how to apply this in the workplace to achieve the outcomes you want. The programme came into effect with the aim to equip HCSW’s with a wider knowledge and improve their leadership skills. The higher development programme aims to build on the expansion of the existing Health Care Support Workers who have already completed the Care Certificate, and to increase their awareness and improve patient experience for effective patient outcomes. It is a personal development programme for existing HCSW’s not only to increase their knowledge but also to give the opportunity to undertake Enhanced Care (providing 1:1 or 1:4) care to patients who required closer monitoring and patients who are at risk of harm to self or others.
